Zanendaba is Zulu word meaning bring me a story or tell me a story, and is exactly what we do. We bring you a bag full of assorted stories, told in an exciting way to let your mind travel into the extraordinary world of fantasy.

Zanendaba Storytellers was founded in 1992 by the legendary Storyteller Gcina Mhlophe in response to the need to revitalise the tradition of oral literature. The name Zanendaba (Zulu) means, "Come with a story" or "Bring A Story". The ancient wisdom of storytelling has the power to entertain, heal, educate, motivate and enhance the well being of people. Contemporary issues are challenged and interrogated through this method of oral literature.

Since 1992 Zanendaba Storytellers have told stories in South Africa at:

• Old Age Homes
• Adult Learning Centres
• Childrens' Homes/Birthdays/Hospitals
• Schools
• Cultural Festivals
• Storytelling Festivals, Local and International
• Community Theaters
• Correctional Services Institutions

Several festivals for youth and children on storytelling has been held nationally mainly through the help of The Joko Tea Company.
